Bathing Lakes
The famous Lake Klopein, or Klopeiner See as it is called in German, is the warmest bathing lake in Europe. The water in the 1.8 km long and 800 m wide lake reaches 28° Celsius (82.40° Fahrenheit) in summer. Lake Klopein is roughly 20 minutes away from Völkermarkt by car.
It is also home to the Forest Adventure World, a huge nature park with exciting attractions.
Its little "brother", Lake Turner (German: Turnersee), is also very popular.
Southern Carinthia also has many other beautiful lakes as well as public swimming pools and lidos.
